We are Eco-Friendly
The Celtic Inn, An Irish Bed & Breakfast, is eco-friendly and environmentally conscious whenever possible. There are many ways we are "low-impact" to Mother Earth. For example:
We serve organic fruits, yogurts, and juices for our breakfasts.
We serve organic, Fair Trade coffees and teas.
We serve breakfast in natural, wicker baskets, not disposable containers.
We use ceramic and glass dishware, not disposable plates and cups.
We use real cutlery, not plastic forks and spoons.
We use cloth napkins and placemats, not paper.
We use CFL light bulbs whenever practical.
We recycle all tin, aluminum, glass, newspapers, and plastics to keep them out of the landfill.
We compost food scraps and yard waste.
We are members of our local food co-op, The People's Co-op, in Historic Downtown La Crosse.
We believe in Community Supported Agriculture, and we are members of Lynnwood Farms CSA. This provides us with fresh, local produce throughout the growing season.
We use reusable cloth bags for grocery shopping, instead of plastic or paper.
We use a high-efficiency, Energy-Star, washing machine and dryer, for minimal use of water and electricity.
We believe in wearing sweaters in the winter, tank tops in summer; when we are away from the Inn, we adjust the thermostat accordingly, rather than wastefully heat or cool the entire Inn at all times.
These are just a few of the ways we are Eco-Friendly and environmentally low-impact.
